Pressure

2026 · Thriller · History · War

Four actors. Four bullseyes.

Andrew Scott is great. Kerry Condon is perfect. Damian Lewis, one of my favorite actors working, is at his absolute best. And Brendan Fraser as Eisenhower? Perfect. I don't know how else to put it. The man disappears into it.

The plot delivers. The acting delivers.

That's the engine of this movie. You've got these people in a room, the clock ticking down, and the weight of the entire damn war pressing on their shoulders. The pressure (yeah, pun intended, the title earns it) is the whole point, and it lands. Every conversation feels like it matters because every conversation does matter.

The plot delivers. The acting delivers. And I left the theater still thinking about it, which is more than I can say for most things I see these days. Seeing it on a big screen helped, too. The quiet tension hits different when you can't pause and check your phone.

My one gripe: I wanted more of Normandy itself. After 72 hours of buildup, I'd have taken a longer look at what all that pressure was actually for. But it's a small complaint about a movie that knew what it was and committed to it.

Not for everyone. If you want explosions and beaches, look elsewhere. If you want four pros at the top of their game, here you go.
