Coyote vs. Acme
Warner Bros. shelved this thing for years and ate the loss on it. I still can't tell you why. I laughed harder at this than anything I've seen in a theater in a long time.
It's built a lot like Roger Rabbit, cartoon and live action sharing the same frame, and that's a compliment. The mix works. It doesn't feel like a gimmick bolted onto a movie; it feels like the whole point.

Will Forte and Lana Condor are great together. And John Cena, playing an over the top lawyer, is exactly as big as he needs to be. He commits. That's the job.
I saw it with friends in a theater and the theater absolutely made it better. Laughs are contagious. You want a room full of people losing it at the same gag. That's the experience this movie was built for, and it's part of why burying it for this long was such a crime.
I've thought about it since. That's the tell for me. Plenty of comedies get a chuckle and evaporate by the parking lot. This one stuck.
Go see this if you want to laugh often. That's the whole pitch. I'd watch it again tomorrow.
