Battleship
No awards coming for this one. Don't care. It was a blast.
The plot was fun, the scenes were fun, the action was fun. That's three for three on the fun-meter and that's really all I was asking for when I sat down.

The ship sequences ripped. Seeing this in a theater absolutely made it better; the big screen is where this movie wants to live. Hawaii as the backdrop doesn't hurt either. Some movies you watch and think, yeah, they picked the right zip code. This is one of them.
Tadanobu Asano was great. And Brooklyn Decker? Wow. That's the note I wrote and I'm standing by it.
The one thing dragging it down: Taylor Kitsch acts like a brick. No emotion, just sort of standing there being a guy. Somehow the movie is still a good time around him, which says something about everything else clicking.
Watched it with the family, walked out happy, and yeah, this one stuck with me. Would I throw it back on? Absolutely. Would I tell pretty much anyone to give it a shot? Also yes. Sometimes you just want a loud, fun ride.
