What the hell did Spielberg eat growing up? Seriously. The man keeps making movies, and they keep getting better, and I keep showing up wondering if he's finally going to drop one. Not this time.

Technology has something to do with it, sure. But knowing how to use it is a totally different thing, and he uses it like nobody else.

Walked out with no notes.

Emily Blunt and Josh O'Connor are running this thing. Full stop. They're in charge of every scene they're in, and the chemistry between them is what makes the whole movie tick. You buy them together, you buy what they're chasing, you buy the stakes. Without those two clicking, this is a different (and worse) movie. They click.

Then you've got Colin Firth and Colman Domingo on opposite sides of the board, and that's just a gift. Watching those two operate against each other is the kind of casting that makes you sit up a little straighter in your seat. Eve Hewson as Jane was a knockout too. Every corner of this cast is doing work.

The intensity. The suspense. The plot. The action. The story. I'm listing them out because every single one of those lanes is firing. There's no soft spot in this movie where you're checking your watch or wondering when it picks back up. It just keeps moving and keeps tightening.

I saw it in the theater on a date night and I'm telling you, the theater made it better. This is one of those movies where being locked in with a crowd, big screen, big sound, no phone, adds something real. Watching it on a couch with the lights on is not the same experience. Go to the theater.

Walked out with no notes. None. I was still chewing on it the next day, which doesn't happen to me as often as I'd like anymore. I'll watch it again, no question.

More people need to see this. I mean it. I don't know what the conversation around it is going to look like in six months, but I hope it's loud, because this one earned it. Spielberg, whatever you're eating, keep eating it.
