Man of Steel

2013 · Action · Adventure · Science Fiction

I don't get the hate. I really don't.

Henry Cavill IS Superman. Full stop. He owns every scene he's in, and you can feel the raw emotion coming off him in waves. The guy was built for the cape.

Henry Cavill IS Superman.

And he's not even alone out there. Amy brought it. Michael Shannon as Zod was locked in, took the whole thing dead seriously. Even Russell Crowe showed up to work, which honestly surprised me a little. When your whole cast is rowing the same direction, you feel it.

The Snyderverse catches a lot of strays online, but sitting in that theater with my family, I was all in. It's entertaining. It's big. It's got weight to it. Seeing it on a big screen absolutely made it better; this is not a couch movie.

Walked out with no buyer's remorse, and the thing stuck with me after the credits rolled, which is more than I can say for most blockbusters these days. I'd watch it again tomorrow.

So yeah, pile on if you want. I'll be over here enjoying my Superman movie with the guy who was born to play him.
