Some movies you put on because they're on. This one I put on because it's one of my top five, and I mean that(i have 20 top fives).

Charlie Cox as Tristan is the kind of casting that makes you go back and check when this came out, because he's so young and so good. He just gets it. And Claire Danes as Yvaine? Perfect. Not "she's fine in the role" perfect. Actually perfect. I don't know who else you'd want in that part.

I sat there happy the whole time, which is not a thing I say often.

Then you've got De Niro showing up and actually showing up, not phoning it in. Michelle Pfeiffer leaning all the way in. And Mark Strong, who I will watch in anything, doing Mark Strong things. Every single one of them brought it. I sat there happy the whole time, which is not a thing I say often.

This was one of those movies I caught not really knowing what I was getting into, and it just floored me. Still does, every time. It sticks with you in a way most movies don't even try to anymore.

If you've never seen it, fix that. If you have, you already know. Top five. I'm sticking with it.
